Optical Transport for Mobile Services Seminar

Seminar Schedule:
Wednesday, September 18, 2019
Seminar: 9:00 am – 11:30 am

Explore the principles and best practices for optical transport of traffic from current and future (5G) cellular networks, from the base stations to the mobile core network. This 2.5-hour seminar presents the use cases for optical fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul. Optical technologies and architectures based on the 1830 Versatile WDM Module (VWM) are proposed for fronthaul to meet 5G requirements, as well as solutions to support a packetized fronthaul (TPS – Time-sensitive Packet Switch).

Registration is available on a first-come, first serve basis as part of the event registration.

Nokia Optical Network Design Expert Lab Exam

Lab Exam Schedule:
Tuesday, September 17, 2019
Lab Exams: 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm

New this year from the Optical Network Certification Program – the Nokia Optical Network Design Expert Lab Exam.

Taking steps to achieve the Nokia Optical Network Design Expert Certification? Or thinking about it? Available for the first time at AON are all the exams required to obtain the Nokia Optical Network Design Expert certification including the Optical Network Design lab exam.

The Nokia Optical Network Design Expert is an intermediate level certification in the ONC program that is focused on network design. The Nokia Optical Network Design Expert targets intermediate to senior level professionals who wish to acquire advanced practical knowledge and experience in the design of Wavelength Division Multiplexing WDM networks based on the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), using the 1830 Engineering and Planning Tool (EPT). In addition, the Nokia Optical Network Design Expert provides a solid background on related topics including optical system engineering, network and site optimization, node architectures, Optical Transport Network (OTN), Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS), availability and survivability (protection and restoration), as well as advanced requirements such as latency and encryption.

Details on how to register for an exam can be found here.
